Community Participation

Community Participation

Crosslinks helps people with a disability to be active in their community. We call our community participation program, “Community Inclusion” and it’s all about doing the things you want to do while building relationships and friendships, promoting independence, learning new skills and having an enormous amount of fun. There are four services in our Community Inclusion program. Depending on your NDIS plan, you can participate in one or all of them!

1. Community Support

Community Support is about achieving the goals in your NDIS plan. One of our caring, qualified Support Workers will help you with the activities outlined in your plan. For example, they may pick you up from home to take you to an appointment, help you with food shopping or enjoy a day together exploring a local suburb. A personalised care plan will be on file so every Support Worker will know how you like to be assisted.

2. Activities

Crosslinks runs a range of regular activities like art classes, drumming, music, stretching and more. Some of the classes are open to the general public and some are for Crosslinks participants only. Come and enjoy! Choose something from the schedule

3. Adult Social Club

If you’re 18 years of age and older, our RAP Club (RAP stands for Recreate and Participate) is the social club for you! RAP Club is focused on friendship, fun and regular community activities that are chosen by members. It’s all about getting out and about in the community and may include outings like concerts, mini-golf, going to a local pub, go-karting or playing pool. Find out more about getting social

4. Youth Social Club

If you’re 17 years of age and under, come and check out the Crosslinks Youth Club. Mingle with people your own age, learn new skills and have lots of fun! Enjoy community activities like going to the movies, concerts, karaoke, twilight markets, fish and chips on the beach and much more. Find out more

Choose what community activities you’d like to do

Our Community Inclusion service is all about providing person-centred care. We help identify the places, interests and people that are important to you and we work with you to achieve the goals in your NDIS plan and have experiences that you enjoy.

Perhaps you’d like to become more confident and familiar with your local area? Whether it’s a visit to the corner coffee shop, a walk in the park, heading to the local recreation centre – or whatever you choose to do – we are here to help. Our qualified, caring Disability Support Workers provide one-on-one, individualised support, to help bring out your best and ensure you have a great day.

Perhaps your NDIS plan indicates that you’d like to make new friends? If you’re over 18, our RAP Social Club is a great opportunity to meet people and participate in activities, or if you’re 17 and under, check out our Youth Club.

Perhaps there are days when you’re not sure what you feel like doing? Our experienced disability Support Workers have lots of great ideas plus Crosslinks runs regular, fun activities like drumming, art or moving to music that you can join in – if you wish.

It’s all about you – creating connections, building skills, promoting independence, and simply having fun.
