Drew and Ellen’s Beef and Garlic Sausage Rolls

Drew and Ellen smile at the camera while proudly holding their home made sausage rolls.

Good food is even better when it’s shared. Our recipe collection showcases meals that our participants have enjoyed making and eating, celebrating the simple pleasures of cooking, trying new flavours and spending time together. Whether you’re looking for meal inspiration or something fun to try at home, we hope our recipes bring a little joy to your kitchen.

Big fan’s of a good bakery treat, Drew and Ellen were thrilled to roll up their sleeves to make their very own beef and garlic sausage rolls. From mixing the filling to carefully rolling the pastry, they got stuck into every step with plenty of enthusiasm.

Cooking activities like this are a great way to build confidence, try new skills and enjoy time together in the kitchen — plus there’s the bonus of a pretty tasty reward at the end!

We love seeing our participants explore the things they enjoy and create moments that are fun, social and full of connection. Safe to say Drew and Ellen were pretty proud of the final result… and honestly, they looked bakery-worthy to us!

Salt & black pepper

1tsp Garlic powder

Packet of puff pastry sheets

1 egg for eggwash

Sesame seeds to sprinkle

For the Dip

1/4 cup Mayonnaise

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C and line trays with non-stick paper.

  5. Place the pieces on your tray. Brush with the egg wash and sprinkle on the sesame seeds.
  6. Bake for 25 to 30 mins until golden. Remove and cool on a cooling rack.
  7. Heat the honey and chopped rosemary in a small pan for about 1 minute, stirring gently. Drizzle the honey over the sausage rolls.
  8. Mix together the mayonnaise, parsley and mustard for your dipping sauce. Adjust flavours to your preference.
  9. Plate up the sausage rolls and serve with the sauce. Enjoy!
