Morning Tea Full of Sunshine
There was a whole lot of laughter, connection and yellow as our teams came together to host morning tea’s in support of Cancer Council.
One of our homes went all out, with Margaret St participants and staff going above and beyond to create a yellow celebration.
Everyone got stuck into preparing for the celebrations and there were decorations galore. The girls enjoyed their morning making gorgeous yellow crepe paper flowers, decorate spaces, setting up tables and creating party hats topped with handmade flowers.
Lisa took charge of balloon duty, helping fill the rooms with bright pops of yellow and plenty of excitement.
In the kitchen, participants helped cook and prepare the delicious spread for the day. From yellow iced chocolate cake to donuts, pancakes and refreshing yellow lemonade, there was lots of teamwork, creativity and fun involved. Cooking together created opportunities to build confidence, learn new skills and enjoy meaningful moments with friends, support workers (and lot’s of yellow).
Once the preparations were done, it was time to celebrate.
Everyone came together to share in the good vibes, with music playing, decorations filling the rooms and smiles everywhere you looked. After a full day of celebrations, they finished the day with a roast.
Together our Crosslinks team raised $219 to make a difference to those impacted by cancer.
Days like these are about so much more than fundraising. They’re about creating opportunities for people to be involved, contribute, connect with others and have fun. Whether it was decorating, cooking, hosting or celebrating together afterwards, every person played a part in making the day special.
Community inclusion should feel joyful, welcoming and genuine. We love creating experiences where people can build confidence, friendships and memories — all while having a great time together.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped decorate, cook, donate and celebrate with us. We’re so proud of the way our participants and team came together to make the day such a success.
