Starting her career in the disability sector in 1977 for the Disability Services Commission, Denise has seen first-hand the changes and developments this industry has gone through, spending time across many different roles with varying responsibilities. In fact, through the friendships, the highs, the lows and the industry’s evolution, she finds it hard to think back to a time when she was not involved in the disability sector.
In August 1997 Denise took up the position of CEO for Crosslinks Inc. (a year after its formation) and continues in the role today. For her, a key focus for the future is continuing the great work being delivered now by understanding the evolving industry and providing better service and support. It’s about working towards an improved person-centred and individualised service that is not dictated by group size but by individual choice. For Denise, she sees this as her ‘journey of a lifetime’.
