Some stories just make you smile — and Scott and Anne’s in our SIL home is one of them.
These two first crossed paths in 1993 at John Forrest Secondary College in Morley. High school sweethearts with a bond that stood the test of time.
Years later, Scott was living with his mum before joining one of our supported homes in Guildford. It didn’t take long for him to settle in — with the right supports, familiar routines, and a team that really listened to what mattered to him. Anne, who was living independently with another provider at the time, would come by to visit. Their connection was clear — strong, genuine, and full of care.
When they knew they wanted to take the next step and start living together, our team worked closely with them and their families, making sure everyone felt confident, comfortable, and included in the process. Together, they explored how things could work — their routines, what they’d need day-to-day, and how Crosslinks could support everyone to make the transition possible.
The decision was theirs — but the support around it made all the difference. Because at Crosslinks, we do more than provide homes. We build trust, create safe spaces, and make sure every change — big or small — is made with care, collaboration, and a whole lot of heart.
In 2021, Scott and Anne moved in together and started a new chapter under one roof — with support that’s as steady as their connection.
But the real spark moment? That happened back in December 2018, over dinner at the much-loved (and now sadly closed) Sizzler in Morley. With Scott’s mum by their side, he got down on one knee and proposed. Pure magic.
These days, you’ll catch them on weekends at Hans Café, sharing their favourite dishes, swapping spring rolls, and laughing like they always have.
We’re lucky to be part of stories like this. Because at Crosslinks, our homes are more than just houses — they’re places where real life happens. Where people connect, love grows, and everyday moments turn into lifelong memories.
